I’m on a mission!
A mission to revive the Auld Alliance, the special bond that has linked France and Scotland for centuries. It feels especially relevant as I’m writing once again from Scotland, about life in this beautiful corner of France.
Why Scotland? Well…it’s a long story but I’ll keep it short. After living in Thollon les Memises above Lake Geneva for several years, where Tales from the Balcony first began, I moved back to Scotland for family reasons.
I may have decamped, but this idyllic corner of France still feels like home, and I’d love to continue sharing its stories with you.
I’ll tell you more about favourite places, daily life and the changing moods of the lake and the mountains. I’ll also take you beyond the borders to exciting new places that are easily accessible from Thollon, such as Lausanne, the South of France or Italy.
